Slayer’s Kerry King announced a North American tour set for 2025. The tour includes a stop at the Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles, CA on Friday, February 21, 2025.
King will embark on a his first headlining solo tour in support of his debut solo album From Hell I Rise, released on May 17 via Reigning Phoenix Music. The record is King’s first album since disbanding Slayer in 2019. The tour kicks off on January 15 in San Francisco, CA and wraps up on February 22 in Los Angeles, CA. The 28-date tour includes stops in cities such as Porrtland, Toronto, New York, Phoenix, and more. Municipal Waste and Alien Weaponry will join as support.
“Getting back on the road for the first time in five years wasn’t exactly like riding a bike, that’s for sure,” King has said. “I’ve never had that much time off, but the first tours with my new band — in the U.K. and Europe, and then in America with Lamb of God and Mastodon — were all total blasts. We’ll be headlining on this next tour, so we’re playing a longer set than we did with Lamb of God and Mastodon. We’ve got a little bit of a learning curve, so will start rehearsing the first week of November. And we might put an extra Slayer song into the set and learn a cover song or two.”
King launched his solo project in February, with the release of debut single “Idle Hands”. The band’s lineup includes singer Mark Oseguada (Death Angel), co-guitarist Phil Demmel (ex-Machine Head), bassist Kyle Sander (ex-Hellyeah) and drummer Paul Bostaph (Slayer).
Slayer’s co-founding guitarist Kerry King is one of the most instantly recognizable and well-respected musicians in thrash, punk, metal, and over the past near-40-years, has pioneered some of the most brutal and revolutionary music ever created. King wrote or co-wrote some of Slayer’s most beloved songs including “Mandatory Suicide,” ”Repentless,” ”Hell Awaits,” ”Disciple,” and “Raining Blood.” As a member of Slayer, King was also the recipient of four Gold Albums, two Gold and one Platinum longform videos, and five Grammy nominations with two wins in the category of Best Metal Performance.
