Black Keys Announce Expanded Version Of New Album Ohio Players: Trophy Edition For November 2024 Release, Shares New Single “Mi Tormenta”

After a year of unexpected twists, The Black Keys are back with exciting news for their fans. As reported by Spin, the duo is set to release an expanded version of their latest album, Ohio Players: Trophy Edition on November 15th. Along with this exciting announcement, The Black Keys have also released a new single “Mi Tormenta”, featuring a guest appearance by regional Mexican star DannyLux. 

“Mi Tormenta” is already a standout track, not only featuring DannyLux, but also marking the first time frontman Dan Auerbach sings in Spanish. The song is a colorful fusion of the band’s signature rock and blues sound with the smooth melodies of Mexcian music. This latest track pushes the boundaries of The Black Key’s usual style. The accompanying official music video is moody and atmospheric with a rustic film filter.

The Trophy Edition expands on Ohio Players with four brand-new tracks and collaborations, including Alice Cooper on “Stay in Your Grave” and Beck on multiple songs. This new version will also feature a different album cover and a new sequencing of the tracklist to offer a new listening experience. In addition to the standard release, Amazon will offer an exclusive purple vinyl edition featuring the bonus track “Let Love Take Its Time.” 

On the album, the band shared their thoughts, stating, “We held back five of our favorite tracks planning for their release to coincide with our tour of North America. Even though our year got turned upside down, we still needed to deliver these new songs to our fans.” Pre-orders for this new extended version are available for fans here. 

The Black Keys were reported to sign with new management after their Arena Tour cancellation this summer and the firing of Irving Azoff and Steve Moir of Full Stop Management. They are now signed to Red Light Management, who is also responsible for The Dave Matthews Band, Chris Stapleton, The Strokes and more.
