Although it was a couple days after the fall equinox, September 25th felt like the first real day of autumn. The chill in the air combined with the anticipation of seeing one of the trendiest artists right now created an environment full of expectation. One could see the excitement on everyone’s faces and those anticipatory feelings were contagious. Faye Webster’s opening act, Mei Ehara, only stoked the flames of that excitement. Even though all of her songs are in her native Japanese, the musical talents of her and her band were quite apparent. Finally, it was time for Faye to shine. She humbly emerged from backstage and kept the lights low while performing her opening song. Before her fourth track though, her bubble machines came on, turning the stage into what could only be described as a physical manifestation of joy. This remained true for the rest of the show making for a truly enjoyable evening of music and fun.
