Social Distortion have announced six new performance dates! One show is set to take place at The Belasco Theatre on Friday, December 6.
The iconic band announced the short-run via social media with the caption, “We know what YOU’RE doing for the Holidays…” The group of shows kicks off on November 29 at the House of Blues in Anaheim with special guest Harlis Sweetwater. On December 3 Social D is headed to Majestic Ventura Theater in Ventura followed by December 6 at the Belasco in Los Angeles with The Defiant opening both dates. The band makes a stop on December 10 at the Filmore in San Francisco with Lovecrimes followed by a show on December 20 at the Observatory North Park in San Diego with Harlis Sweetwater. The run wraps up on December 27 with a show at the House of Blues in Las Vegas with special guest Plague Vendor.
Dubbed as the godfathers of punk, Social Distortion have been a vital group in the scene for nearly five decades. The band consists of Mike Ness, Jonny Wickersham, Brent Harding, David Hidalgo Jr, and David Kalish. Social Distortion emerged from the Orange County hardcore scene in the late 1970s, releasing their debut record, Mommy’s Little Monster, in 1983. The group now has seven studio albums with the latest being 2011’s Hard Times and Nursery Rhymes. The band is most recognized for their third self-titled studio album which includes hit singles “Ball and Chain,” “Story of my Life,” and the cover of Johnny Cash’s “Ring of Fire.” Social Distortion is considered one of the best-selling and most influential punk rock bands, with more than three million albums sold worldwide.
