Texan rock band, Sparta, is celebrating the 20th anniversary of their second LP, Porcelain, with a fall tour. The North American tour includes a stop in Downtown Los Angeles’s infamous venue 1720 on Sunday, November 3.
Sparta is set to kick off the Porcelain 2024 tour on October 4 in Denver, CO before wrapping up on November 29 in their hometown El Paso, TX. The 17-date tour includes stops in cities such as Brooklyn, Miami, Chicago, Toronto, and more. Special guest Common Sage will join as openers during the tour.
Rock band Sparta formed in 2001 At the Drive-In members Tony Hajjar, Paul Hinojos and Jim Ward. The band currently consists of founding member and vocalist/guitarist Ward joined by bassist Matt Miller. The group released their full-length debut Wiretap Scars in 2002 via DreamWorks Records and peaked at No. 71 on the Billboard 200. In 2004, the band released their second record, Porcelain. The record was followed by a tour supporting Incubus and Sparta’s own headlining tour which was cut short due to Ward taking time to step away. Following a short hiatus, the band made their public return in 2006 with their third record, Threes. Sparta has released a total of five studio albums with the latest being their self-titled record, Sparta, in 2022.
Porcelain peaked at No. 60 on the Billboard 200 and received positive reviews from critics upon its release. Sparta now celebrates the record’s 20th anniversary with a North American tour. No news has been released whether a reissue of the record or any special edition vinyl will be released.
