The Dave Meyers directed video stars both Carpenter and Jenna Ortega as two prospective lovers for the character “Beloved Boyfriend.” Both the songstress and actress vie for Beloved Boyfriend’s affection, leaving both in tatters as they battle for love. The storyline showed between the main characters is borderline romantic, but ends with the two becoming close friends after such a harrowing experience.
After the stunning performance given by Dave Meyers and Sabrina Carpenter on the set of the “Espresso” music video, it is no wonder that Carpenter brought Meyers back to film another video for her Short n’ Sweet era. Meyers’ cinematography and use of special effects mixed with the compelling chemistry between Carpenter and Ortega created alluring and captivating visuals to accompany the pop star’s vocals.
Carpenter will be performing on the MTV Video Music Awards mainstage this year, where she has been nominated six times in categories including Artist of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Pop. Carpenter also has an upcoming sold-out tour that starts September 23 in Columbus, Ohio.
