Jeff Tweedy, singer-songwriter and frontman of band Wilco, is set to perform at Navy Pier on Sep. 21, 2024. This will be a free event and is open to anyone and everyone to attend. It’s presented by Chicago Live! and the Pritzker Foundation.
Tweedy was born and raised in Illinois. He got his start in the music industry with beloved Chicago band, Wilco which was formed in 1994. Wilco alone has thirteen albums, three with Billy Bragg and one with the Minus 5.
Tweedy began his solo career in 2011 with his first single, Behold a Raccoon in the Darkness. His first solo album, Sukierae, didn’t come until 2014. By that time, Wilco had already made a splash in the music industry.
He is known for his alternative country and rock indie music. All together, from solo albums, to collaborations, to Wilco, Tweedy has produced and released 20 studio albums. He is incredibly well seasoned and experienced in the music he makes.
Although he hasn’t released a solo album since 2021, Wilco released a new album in 2023 called Cousin and an EP that was released just this year in 2024 called Hot Sun Cool Shroud.
With his arrival back to the “homeland”, he is going to put on a beautiful show for his fellow Chicagoans. The set list will be stacked with not only his solo music, but music from Wilco as well.
Don’t miss his performance at Navy Pier on Sep. 21 presented by Chicago Live! No tickets are necessary for attendance. All you need to get in is you and yourself.
