Dawn Richard & Spencer Zahn at First Unitarian Church on Nov. 2

New Orleans singer Dawn Richard and musician Spencer Zahn are collaborating, once again, touring across the country bringing fans new music and performing at the First Unitarian Church of Philadelphia on November 2nd.

Dawn Richard’s career began in the early 2000s on the hit series Making the Band, from which she would become a member of the R&B/pop girl group Danity Kane. Richard would debut her solo career with the release of her mixtape The Prelude to a Tell Tale Heart in 2011. Her 2013 studio album Goldenheart would make its way onto international hip hop and R&B charts, fully establishing herself as a solo artist.

Spencer Zahn originally began his career as a bassist, later expanding into the multi-talented instrumentalist he is today. His studio album debut, People of the Dawn, released in 2018, established Zahn’s music as a unique fusion of different sounds including jazz, pop, lo-fi, classical, and more.

After they toured together with R&B singer Kimbra, the duo collaborated to create their 2022 album Pigments, which combined both artists’ styles to create a highly acclaimed piece that would pave the way for their upcoming work. The duo’s tour is in support of their upcoming album Quiet in a World Full of Noise, which is releasing in full on October 4th of this year. The first single off of the album, “Breath Out,” was released earlier this month, and previews the emotional, atmospheric tones to the album.
