Jaime xx has announced new club residencies set for New York and Los Angeles. The five-night residencies will take place at undisclosed locations, only to be revealed to ticket holders closer to the event date. The Los Angeles residency will take place somewhere in Downtown LA from Tuesday, July 30 through Saturday, August 3.
Jamie xx’s The Floor is a bespoke, pop-up residency that debuted in May in London at Venue MOT and will premiere this month in Brooklyn and Los Angeles, across five nights in each city. The back to back run of intimate club shows will feature a DJ set from Jamie xx each night alongside a unique line-up of special guests who will be announced on the day of show. In London across ten exhilarating and sweaty nights, Jamie xx was joined by guests including Charli xcx and George Daniel, Romy, Daphni, 2ManyDJs, JohnGlacier, Jockstrap, Axel Boman, Two Shell, Yu Su, Lil Silva, MJ Cole, DJ Python and many more. The line-ups for Brooklyn and Los Angeles will match the dynamism of London’s guests with an eye to bring in local friends and collaborators.
Speaking on The Floor, Jamie explains, “For years I’ve been dreaming of opening my own club, a place that represents my experiences in the best of London’s underground club scene; the intimacy, the community, the curation, the sound…. We debuted this concept in London at Venue MOT for 10-nights in May and I’m excited to announce we’ll bring The Floor to Brooklyn and Los Angeles for 5-nights in each city this month.
