Indie singer and musician Waxahatchee is bringing her Tigers Blood Tour to The Fillmore in Philadelphia for not just one, but two highly-anticipated nights (!!) on September 7th & 8th.
Formed in 2010, Waxahatchee is a solo project from singer-songwriter Kathryn Crutchfield. The band is named after Waxahatchee Creek in Alabama where Crutchfield grew up. Her studio album debut American Weekend was recorded entirely by Crutchfield in her room to create a distinct, lo-fi sound, and quickly brought her into the spotlight and achieved critical recognition. Indeed, American Weekend was named one of the best albums of 2012, and the single “Be Good” was considered one of the best songs of that year.
The upcoming tour is in support of Waxahatchee’s most recent release, her sixth studio album titled Tigers Blood. The album tapped into a more pop-heavy sound from Crutchfield, blending that with the familiar indie and country sounds of her past music. Crutchfield released three singles prior to the album’s full release, “Bored,” “385,” and “Right Back To It” all three of which received dazzling reviews from critics and fans alike.
