Front 242 at Union Transfer on September 7th

After almost 40 years of performing, dance/EBM group Front 242 has announced they will be taking their final Black Out tour in 2024, performing at Union Transfer in Philadelphia on September 7th.

Formed in 1981, The group helped popularize the term “EBM,” for electronic body music, a style of industrial music that leaned more pop-heavy and stripped back. The group quickly became legendary for their extravagant and immersive live performances, building a significant and dedicated fanbase within Belgium/Germany (where Front 242 is from). Their debut studio album Geography would be released in 1982, and the band would start their pattern of consistent year-round touring/live performance.

In the group’s seven albums released since Geography, Front 242 has brought not only EBM, but their distinct style of live performance, around the world, amassing a larger and larger international fanbase with every release, even being noted as one of the most influential production groups of all time.

On tour, the group will be opened by performances from two fellow electronic artists, electronic/big beat producer The Crystal Method, and electronic musician and visual artist Nuxx Vomica, meaning this is sure to be an unforgettable live experience.
