Avril Lavigne at The Freedom Mortgage Pavilion, August 29

Avril Lavigne performs at When We Were Young Festival in Las Vegas, NV on 23 October, 2022.

Canadian pop-punk singer and songwriter Avril Lavigne recently kicked off her Greatest Hits tour, and will be stopping in Camden, New Jersey at the Freedom Mortgage Pavilion (just a 10 minute drive from downtown Philadelphia!) on August 29th.

Lavigne’s music career began at the age of 14, when she was scouted by a talent manager and won the chance to sing on stage with famous Canadian singer Shania Twain. Two years later in 2002, the release of her debut album Let Go would find her huge success. The hit-packed tracklist included the album’s lead single “Complicated,” which dominated pop charts, as well as timeless tunes like “Sk8er Boi” and “I’m With You.” As a result of these iconic hits, she remains a huge influence on the pop-punk music we still hear today.

Following the success of Let Go, in 2004 Lavigne released her second studio album, Under My Skin to a similar, positive response, with the single “My Happy Ending” off of the album being an internationally-charting track following its release. Lavigne’s most successful single of all time would come with her third studio album release, The Best Damn Thing. The single “Girlfriend” off of The Best Damn Thing would be Lavigne’s first number one spot on U.S. charts, and would expand her chart holdings internationally to even more countries, further exposing her music to the world.

Lavigne’s four other studio album releases have all come with their notable singles as well, such as “What The Hell” off of Goodbye Lullaby (2011), “Here’s to Never Growing Up” off of Avril Lavigne (2013), “Bite Me” off of Love Sux (2022), and more. Lavigne has also maintained her signature sound over the 20+ years she has been making music, emphasizing the importance of maintaining pop-punk’s place in the modern music sphere.

Fans can expect to hear all of these notable tracks by Lavigne and more during this show, as well as performances from early 2000s Canadian punk band Simple Plan and pop-punk revival duo Girlfriends.

It isn’t a “complicated” decision whether or not to see this show as it is sure to be outrageously fun and high-energy. Make sure to get your tickets while you can! You can get them HERE
