Experimental metal band The Body are heading out on a North American tour this summer with Dis Fig in support of their collaborative album, Orchards of a Futile Heaven. The tour includes a stop at Los Angeles’ Teragram Ballroom on Thursday, July 18.
The tour kicks off on July 3 in Troy, NY and runs through August 4 in Philadelphia, PA. The shows will mark the first-ever live collaborative performances by The Body and Dis Fig, aka Felicia Chen. This will also be Dis Fig’s first tour across the US. The 26-date tour will be visiting cities such as Vancouver, Atlanta, Seattle, and Chicago. Cel Genesis will provide support on the tour. The collaborative tour follows The Body’s current tour with World Peace, a short run throughout April in North America set to conclude on April 26 in Montreal.
The Body and Dis Fig are a natural pair. Each has pioneered instantly recognizable worlds of sound all their own that aim defy any traditional categorizations or boundaries. The Body, Lee Buford and Chip King, continually challenge any conventional conception of metal. Dis Fig pushes electronic music into dark extremes, from warped DJ sets to avant production, from being a member of Tianzhuo Chen’s performance-art series TRANCE to being the vocalist with The Bug. The Body and Dis Fig find kinship in reimagining what it means to make heavy music.
The Body is a musical force whose creativity is matched only by the astonishing weight of their sound. Duo Lee Buford and Chip King have established their own musical language since 1999. Over the course of two decades, the duo has consistently challenged assumptions and defied categorization, redefining what it means to be a heavy band. With six studio albums and 16 collaborative records, The Body continues to experiment with the heaviness of metal.
