Iron Maiden singer Bruce Dickinson and his solo band will perform this Friday, April 12 at the Whisky A Go Go in West Hollywood, California. The show was announced via a video message on Dickinson’s social media. An additional show was added for Saturday, April 13!
Dickinson will be performing with his solo band House Band Of Hell. Those who wish to attend might want to get to the infamous venue early morning as tickets can only be purchased at the box office of the Whisky A Go Go starting Friday at 10 a.m. During the announcement the vocalist mentioned, “And when you turn up at the box office, you never know who you might meet.” It is unclear whether Dickinson will be working the ticket booth himself but fans may expect a few surprises this Friday.
The English singer is heading out on tour soon in support of his latest solo album, The Mandrake Project, released March 1 via BMG. The upcoming tour is set to kick off with a sold out warm up show on April 15 at The Observatory in Santa Ana, CA. This past February, Dickinson revealed the addition of two new guitarists to his solo touring band. Swedish-born guitarist, songwriter and multi-platinum-credited producer Philip Näslund and Swiss session and touring guitarist Chris Declercq will accompany previously announced members drummer Dave Moreno, keyboardist Mistheria and bassist Tanya O’Callaghan.
Dickinson made his recording debut with Iron Maiden on the Number Of The Beast album in 1982. He quit the band in 1993 in order to pursue his solo career and was replaced by Blaze Bayley. After releasing two traditional metal albums with former Maiden guitarist Adrian Smith, Dickinson and Smith rejoined the band in 1999. The band earned their first Grammy Award in 2011 for Best Metal Performance for the single “El Dorado” from their 15th studio album The Final Frontier. Dickinson is known for his energetic live performances and operatic vocals.
