The 6th annual Skull & Roses Festival that was scheduled to take place in Ventura, CA was canceled only ten days before it was scheduled to take place. On the festival’s website and Instagram they have released the following statement.
“…With deep sorrow I must inform you that Skull & Roses 6 has been canceled. In all transparency the financial devastation of the 2023 show made it impossible to sustain the weight of the new production… Additional information will be provided just as soon as it becomes available and will be posted through our socials…”
Although comments have been turned off by Skull and Roses, the headlining band Dark Star Orchestra released a statement about the festival’s cancellation on their Instagram.
The Grateful Dead is known for having an incredibly loyal following, and to have 23 different bands playing their music in one place says great deal about the Dead’s influence.
