Alternative country musician, Orville Peck, has announced the Stampede Tour in support of his upcoming album of the same name! He will be making a stop in San Francisco at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium on September 27!
Daniel Pitout, professionally known as Orville Peck, is a South African musician who notoriously conceals his identity with a fringed mask. Peck is known for his unique take on country music, standing out as a gay musician in what is not often considered a progressive genre. Peck grew up the son of an audio engineer and taught himself guitar and keyboard at a young age. He also did voice-over work in his twenties and toured in a number of musicals.
Peck self-recorded and produced his debut album, Pony, and released it with Sub Pop Records in 2019. The album garnered critical acclaim including nominations for a Juno Award as well as a shortlist placement for the Polaris Prize. Peck’s second album, Bronco, was released in 2022 to commercial and critical success.
Over the last few years Peck has made a number of high profile appearances including a guest judge spot on RuPaul’s Drag Race. He was also featured on Lady Gaga’s Born This Way anniversary album where he covered the title track in a country style. Peck is currently gearing up to release his duet album, Stampede. The lead single “Cowboys Are Frequently, Secretly Fond of Each Other,” is a duet with Willie Nelson.
