Today, The Melvins, just released their new song titled, “Allergic To Food.” This is the group’s second single from their upcoming album Tarantula Heart. The song itself has a guitar clash, with a mix of unrelenting percussion.
The song immediately calls to mind the hyper type of noise rock of Melt Banana. The band’s lead singer Buzz Osborne described Melvins approach with the new album as “different” compared with any previous cycles. The band also had Dale and Roy come in, along with Steven the band’s bassist.
The majority of the Tarantula Heart, has dual drum parts. The band also improvised the riffs and as well as the drums. The album was recorded and co-produced by longtime collaborator Toshi Kasai. The album also features We Are The Asteroid with guitarist Gary Chester.
On the new forthcoming album from The Melvins, some other songs on the tracklist will include: Smiler, Working The Ditch, and Pain Equals Funny. The Tarantula Heart album will be released on April 19.
