Mates of State is coming to Philly! Mates of State, an indie pop duo from Lawrence, Kansas, consists of married couple Kori Gardner (vocals, keyboards) and Jason Hammel (vocals, drums). Their musical journey began in the late 1990s when the pair met while studying at the University of Kansas. Bonding over a shared love for music, they soon started collaborating and crafting their distinctive sound characterized by vibrant melodies, intricate harmonies, and energetic rhythms.
While the duo hasn’t released new music since the release of their seventh studio album Mountaintops on September 13th, 2011, they are heading out on tour this year in anticipation on some new music they’ve been recording. The tour is fittingly titled the Still the One tour. Their tour will go across America during the month of July. Catch them in Philly on July 11th at the Foundry in The Fillmore at 8pm.
