Hatsune Miku is set to make her grand return to the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival this April. Japan’s popular virtual diva will perform at the distinguished music festival and will also take part of Goldenvoice’s April concert series with a special one-night show at the Shrine Auditorium on Wednesday, April 17.
Powered by Cruchyroll, Hatsune Miku will be performing live at the Shrine Auditorium amidst her Saturday appearances at both Coachella weekends. Miku was meant to make her Coachella debut in 2020, though the festival was ultimately cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Coachella reopened in 2022, but did not bring back the pop star until this year. Other Japanese acts will be attending Coachella 2024 including Atarashii Gakko! and YOASOBI.
Miku stands out as the only vocaloid on the Coachella lineup and is set to bring tons of surprises to SoCal. Aside from her one-night Los Angeles performance, Miku will also have two pop-up shops at the Glass House Concert Hall in Pomona. Fans will have the opportunity to RSVP to both Hatsune Miku Pop-up Shops taking place on Thursday, April 11 and Thursday, April 18. The Miku Expo shop will open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. (unless inventory sells out) on both days.
Miku Hatsune (Hatsune Miku) is a Japanese character created by Crypton Future Media Inc as a Vocaloid, a voice synthesizer program developed by Yamaha. She was released to the public on August 31 2007, along with two demo songs using her voice. The virtual singer who took over the Internet and is now moving crowds all around the world with her live concert performances. The Japanese idol’s live performances include the use of holograms to help bring the vocaloid to life. Though she is not a physically real vocalist, Miku has an extensive discography with thousands of unique songs including her voice.
