Chromeo at Franklin Music Hall on October 1st

Chromeo is coming to Philly this October! The Canadian electro-funk duo is composed of David “Dave 1” Macklovitch and Patrick “P-Thugg” Gemayel. The band made their debut in the music industry with their 2004 debut album She’s in Control. 20 years later, to the day, the duo is still making music together, releasing their 6th studio album Adult Contemporary on February 16th, 2024.

The band has seen considerable critical acclaim throughout their career, being nominated for a Grammy Award in 2019 in the Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical category.  Their new album, Adult Contemporary, is described as a “a meditation on modern, mature relationships” by Dave 1. In an interview with NPR, P-Thugg explains their style and inspiration for the album, saying, “I mean, we’ve always been influenced heavily by funk music. So on this album, we sort of went back to our first two albums’ sound with, you know, a lyrical content that’s more mature and a little more ironed, let’s say.”

While this album seems to be a bit more mature and sultry, their show is still enjoyable for all ages! Chromeo is taking their tour from Mexico to the U.S. to Canada to Europe, from May-October of this year. Catch them at the Franklin Music Hall October 1st at 7:00 pm.
