Helmet at The Fillmore on April 26

American alternative metal band, Helmet, have announced the US Look Left Tour in support of their most recent album, LEFT. The band will be making a stop in San Francisco at The Fillmore on April 26.

Helmet was formed in 1989 by vocalist, Page Hamilton. The band has gone through a number of lineup changes over the years, eventually landing on the current group consisting of Hamilton on vocals and guitar, Kyler Stevenson on drums, Dan Beeman on rhythm guitar, and Dave Case on bass. The band’s sound can be categorized by their unique take on rock and metal that utilizes precise guitar lines and unconventional time signatures.

The band was first active from 1989-1998, releasing a total of four studio albums in that time. After disbanding for a brief five year period, Helmet reformed in 2004 and have been active ever since. They’ve released five additional studio albums during their second run as a band, the most recent of which, LEFT, arrived late last year. They are often credited as one of the most influential acts in nu metal in recent years.

Despite numerous lineup changes, a break up, and an unconventional image, Helmet has remained one of the most respected groups in alt-metal history. Witness them take stage at The Fillmore on April 26! Tickets are available here
