Despite only having four albums under there belt, the most recent of which having been released in 2000, the band has gone down as one of the most legendary acts from the early midwest emo movement.
Their 1994 debut, Diary, was released on Sub Pop to immediate critical acclaim. The record proved a success not only for the band, securing them instant cult status, but also Sub Pop, becoming one of their highest selling records at the time. The band went on to release three more album, intermittently breaking-up and reforming with new members every couple of years. Sunny Day Real Estate in its current form has been active since 2022, continuing to draw in fans old and new alike.
