Ministry at Terminal 5 on March 19

Ministry is an American industrial metal band founded in Chicago, Illinois in 1981 by producer, singer, and instrumentalist Al Jourgensen.

Ministry is known as one of the pioneer bands of industrial rock and industrial metal in the late 1980s. Originally, Ministry was a synth-pop band, but they evolved over the years. The lineup changes often, currently, the members are Al Jourgensen, John Bechdel, Cesar Soto, Paul D’Amour, Roy Mayorga, and Monte Pittman.

Their first three studio albums garnered them great success, with The Land of Rape and Honey and The Mind Is a Terrible Thing to Taste both going gold while Psalm 69 was certified platinum. During the early 2000s, the band went on an extended hiatus when Jourgensen entered rehab for substance abuse. Ministry continued to record and tour until 2008 when they stated they would be going on a farewell tour. Only three years later, Jourgensen returned with new music and they began to tour yet again.

The band has been nominated for six Grammy Awards and has performed at several music festivals, including the second annual Lollapalooza tour in 1992.
