Machine Head have announced their “Slaughter the Martøur” 2024 North American tour, joined by Fear Factory.
Machine Head is a heavy metal band from Oakland, California, USA, formed in 1991. The only original founding member still active with the band is vocalist/rhythm guitarist, Robb Flynn. Their first several albums were very popular in Europe and did not gain very much of a North American following until around 2007 with their album The Blackening. Machine Head has released ten studio albums, two live albums, one video album, 13 singles and 15 music videos. Four of the band’s studio albums have been certified silver in the United Kingdom, and the band’s highest peak on the Billboard 200 came with Bloodstone & Diamonds at number 21.
Fear Factory is an American heavy metal band formed in Los Angeles in 1989. The band’s main sound is industrial metal, with elements of alternative and groove metal. They have undergone frequent changes in their lineup over the years, with members re-joining and leaving several times over. Throughout Fear Factory’s career, they have released 10 studio albums and have sold more than a million albums in the U.S. alone.
During a press release, Machine Head’s Robb Flynn stated: “Head Cases! This will be the greatest metal tour on earth! “So stoked to be getting back on the road in America/Canada with four masters of soul-crushing heaviness and an absolutely earth-shattering bill. Fear Factory has long been our brothers-in-arms, pioneers, and innovators of a sound that had yet to exist. Orbit Culture are the fast-rising Swedish modern metal maniacs bringing their unique spin to the world, and Gates To Hell absolutely blew my mind at Milwaukee Metalfest with their sheer savage brutality. North America, we’re ready to crush skulls, crush beers, and crush everything in our path!” After this, Dino Cazares of Fear Factory added: “We are honored to be touring with the mighty Machine Head. We came up in the metal scene together and both bands have stamped their mark in modern metal, plus Robb has been a good friend of mine for close to 30 years.”
The tour begins on January 19 in San Francisco, the hometown of Machine Head, and runs through February 24. They will also be supported by Orbit Culture and Gates of Hell.
