Kristine Meredith Flaherty better known under the moniker K.Flay, is an American singer, musician, songwriter, and rapper. K.Flay began her music career in 2003 after she told her friends that she could write similar songs on the radio that she viewed as being boring and simplistic. Once she wrote her first low-budget rap parody, K.Flay discovered that she loved to write and perform music.

She released, Suburban Rap Queen in 2005, which she produced on her laptop, becoming her first mixtape. K.Flay released her self-titles extended play in 2010 and a year later she released the mixtape I Stopped Caring in ’96

After reaching success with her early work, K.Flay was signed to RCA Records and released two EPs under their name. Soon after, she left RCA Records due to differences of opinion. When K.Flay left, she also left behind more than 60 songs she had written but no longer owned the rights to.

Her debut album, Life as a Dog, was independently released in 2014. Shortly after, it peaked on Billboard’s Heatseekers Albums chart at number 2 and number 14 on Billboard’s Rap Albums chart.

K.Flay’s most recent album Mono was just released on September 15 of this year. Her upcoming tour, which starts today, comes to the Bowery Ballroom on March 9 and 10! The show is currently sold out, but there is a waitlist to join on her website at https://www.kflay.com/
