Album Review: Cannibal Corpse – Chaos Horrific

Vein jolting noise

Metal band Cannibal Corpse has been raising hell since 1988. On September 22, the band released the album Chaos Horrific; each track is filled with vein jolting instrumentation and a killer vocal performance. Cannibal Corpse has created their own madness with Chaos Horrific.

Overlords of Violence” kicks things off with a bang, the guitar contributing to the endless insanity.  Right off the bat, the bass guitar can be heard shaking the background with great power before the electrifying guitars sizzles the air with righteous riffs.

“Summoned for Sacrifice” is a heart-stopping piece that features a solid vocal performance by George Fisher. While listening, the singer’s voice serenades the ears with powerful vocal tones that bring a sense of threatening fear. Hearing Fisher shrieking out the lyrics on “Summoned for Sacrifice” shows how serious the theme is.

Title track “Chaos Horrific” is a true head banger, the drum playing contributes to the lingering sense of havoc. The heavy sound of fast-paced drum beats creates a rapid musical tempo that demonstrates how horrific things are for Cannibal Corpse.

Closing tune “Drain You Empty” closes the album on a high note, the instrumentation brings a feeling of misery and loss. Each guitar riff and drum beat bring a sense of fear and worthlessness as Fisher angrily sings out the lyrics.

Cannibal Corpse brings back their signature style of metal on Chaos Horrific. The instrumentation and vocals on each track display just how much the band wants to invade people’s minds with their talent.
