American rock band, Fall Out Boy, just announced they will be heading out on a world tour for their newest album So Much (for) Stardust!  The So Much (2our) Dust tour starts in October 2023 and runs through April 2024.

Fall Out Boy hails from the suburbs of Chicago, where they broke ground in the hardcore punk-rock scene in 2001. Friends Pete Wentz and Joe Trohman started the band in Wilmette, Illinois when they were performing in several other punk-rock groups in the area. They met Patrick Stump at a bookstore when he interrupted them talking about an avant-garde metal band. Eventually, the conversation shifted to talking about their new project, which would turn into what we know now as Fall Out Boy. The final member to officially join the band would be drummer Andy Hurley, who was disinterested at first, and for a while, several other drummers played with the band in his place. In 2003 he officially became a member of Fall Out Boy.

Their debut album Take This to Your Grave was a huge success and produced a massive fan following. Throughout the early 2000s, they released several hits, solidifying the band’s popularity. In 2009, Fall Out Boy announced they would be taking a hiatus for the members to pursue personal side projects. They returned in 2013 with Save Rock and Roll, which became the band’s second number-one album. Their following two studio albums both peaked at number one on Billboard 200.

Their genre has shifted over the years from a much heavier punk rock to a more subdued pop rock band. Early albums were a massive part of emo culture, and very important to members of that community. Though their style has changed a bit, they still have a very dedicated and loyal fan base.

Back to the world circuit for the first time since the pandemic, Fall Out Boy will be playing at the famous Madison Square Garden in New York, NY on March 22, 2024, with opening act alternative rock band, Jimmy Eat World. Tickets are on sale at https://falloutboy.com/tour/
