Flume will be playing at the Greek Theatre at U.C. Berkeley on September 8th, 2023.
The Australian electronic musician got his start with electronic music after downloading some music-making software that came along with his purchase of a box of cereal (or I should say, his parents’ purchase most likely, as Flume, real name Harley Edward Streten, was only eleven years old at the time). With a good work ethic and natural talent for making electronic music, Streten honed his chops and was signed by Future Classic when he was only 20 years old. He put out his debut album, Flume, in 2012, shortly after his twenty-first birthday.
Throughout the 2010s he continued to release pioneering and experimental dance music, which has consistently connected with audiences around the world who dig his unique drops and the brilliant features that appear on his records. Some of the biggest tracks that got him early acclaim include remixes such as one of Disclosure and Eliza Doolittle’s “You & Me”, and of Lorde’s “Tennis Courts”.
After his 2022 album, Palaces, Flume has put out two projects of unreleased tracks this year, titled Things Don’t Always Go The Way You Plan and Arrived Anxious, Left Bored. September 8th will see Flume playing a variety of tracks, before he goes to Colorado to play two nights at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. The 8th is a Friday night, and it should be a brilliant one, outdoors, in hopefully nice September weather.
