Demons Announces New Album “Under The Western Heel” For July 2023 Release

Norfolk-based heavy punk band Demons recently announced their upcoming album, Under The Western Heel, which is slated for a July 21 release this Friday. A press release describes the album’s sound as “raw and confrontational fury.” Demons follow up their chaotic and aggressive sound from their previous EP, Swallow. This upcoming album expands upon their previous works with even more noise and rock sound, while offering harsh critiques on the systems which make up modern society.

Demons also premiered the third single from the upcoming album, called “Holy (My Body Broken For You).” Listen to the single via the official YouTube video below.

The track features a furious guitar riff and lyrics which communicate a clear message. “It’s desperation, it’s exasperation—it’s the hypnotic spiral of continuous, daily defeat,” guitarist, vocalist Christopher Mathews says. “As counter-cultural and transgressive as we may sometimes perceive ourselves, I still find myself thinking, ‘I’m playing this game as best I can. Is this still not enough?’ ‘Holy (My Body, Broken for You)’ is the tired sigh of ‘I fucking give up.’”

The track list for Under The Western Heel is as follows:

01 Husk

02 Holy (My Body, Broken for You)

03 Sweet Dreams

04 Man – The Herald of His Own Condemnation

05 Eternal Shithead

06 By the Blood

07 Albatross

08 Thankful
