Cold Cave is coming to Mohawk Austin on September 10th with special guest, Riki! Cold Cave is a solo project by lead member, Wesley Eisold. Cold Cave has 7 miraculous albums and fans are excited to see Cold Cave on their headlining tour.
Cold Cave was created in 2007 by Wesley Eisold, who has an extreme passion for music. Eisold was a vocalist for many former bands, including Give Up the Ghost, Some Girls and Heartworm Press. Eisold decided that he wanted to explore more than just vocals and Cold Cave was his first experimentation within the instrumental side of music. He was born with one hand, so he was doubted when expressing his passion with instruments, but he didn’t let this slow him down. He found a passion for electronic music and has inspired many electronic artists that came after him.
Cold Cave released his first album, Love Comes Close, on November 3rd, 2009. Listeners got to hear how Cold Cave’s music mixes heartbreak and angst together in a perfect combination. They use a mix of darkwave and synthpop in almost every song. On April 4th, 2011, he released his second album, Cherish the Light Years, to great reviews. The mix of rock and electronic throughout the album caught the public’s eyes.
Cold Cave also includes Amy Lee, Eisold’s wife who has been playing the synthesizer with him since the year 2012. Cold Cave also includes Anthony Anzaldo and Ryan McMahon who also perform live and on the albums. Their most recent release, Fate In Seven Lessons, was released on June 11th, 2021 and includes 7 songs.
The group announced their upcoming tour and expresses immense excitement about being able to hit the road again. They stated that they will be performing material from all five of their recently reissued Cold Cave LP’s. Tickets went on sale to the public on June 29th, but tickets are still available for the show! As of now, tickets are going for $20-$25 dollars and you can purchase tickets here.
