First Aid Kit at Stubb’s Waller Creek Amphitheater on September 13th

The beautiful and talented duo, First Aid Kit, is coming to Austin, Texas for their brand new tour! The Palomino Tour starts in Nashville, Tennessee and has 3 Texas stops in Austin, Houston and Dallas. The Austin show will be on September 13th at Stubb’s Waller Creek Amphitheater. The opening act for the show is the magnificent Courtney Marie Andrews.

First Aid Kit is a folk duo of two sisters from Sweden. The two sisters always had a passion for music and were always eager to join the music world, even at a young age. The sisters’ names are Johanna and Klara Söderberg. Johanna adds vocals, bass guitar, keyboards and autoharp to their music while Klara also adds vocals, guitar and keyboards. They also perform with live musicians such as Freja Drakenberg on the keyboards since 2022, Gabriel Runemark on the drums since 2022 and Johannes Runemark on guitar and mandolin.

First Aid Kit has been making iconic music since 2007. Their song “Emmylou” was named #10 Single of the Year in 2012 by the Rolling Stones! The song comes from their album, The Lion’s Roar, that continues to be one of their most popular albums to date. Their album, Stay Gold, came out on June 10th, 2014 and is categorized as more alternative, contrary to their other albums that share an indie folk sound. Their album, Ruins, came out on January 19th, 2018 and it wouldn’t be until 4 years later when fans would get new music from the duo.

Their newest album, Palomino, was released only at the end of last year on November 4th, 2022. Apple Music described the album as, “The Swedish sisters dress their ethereal folk in glistening pop,” and that is a great representation of the beautiful sound this album possesses. “Out of My Head,” “Angel” and “Turning Onto You” are some of the more popular songs on the album and hold an emotional tune that makes an audience want to dance at the same time. You don’t want to miss your chance to see these amazing sisters live and sing their greatest hits and newest music!
