Corinne Bailey Rae is coming to Austin, Texas on September 29th for her Black Rainbows Tour! She will be playing at the Paramount Theatre at 8 p.m. sharp. “Put Your Records On” was one of the most well known songs in 2006 and she has only grown and put out beautiful music since then!
Rae was named the number-one predicted breakthrough artist of 2006 by a BBC poll. In this same year, she released her debut self-titled album in February. It was a stellar album and a great hit. This album granted Rae the fourth ever female British artist in history to have their first album debut at number one! The beginning of her career was one that nobody could ever forget and she was nominated for 3 Grammy Awards by 2007. In 2008 she actually did win a Grammy Award for album of the year for her work on River: The Joni Letters by Herbie Hancock. This was a great moment in history!
Her second album came out on January 26th, 2010 titled, The Sea. The album was met with smashing success and her fans truly loved it. In 2012, her cover of “Is This Love” by Bob Marley and the Wailers went viral and she won a Grammy Award for Best R&B Performance because of this. So early in her career she was already awarded two Grammys! These two albums combined have sold over 5 million copies worldwide, even before mainstream streaming platforms were easily accessible. Her third album didn’t come out until 6 years later. The Heart Speaks in Whispers, came out on May 13th, 2016. The album reached #2 on the Billboard’s R&B chart.
Her newest album and the reason for this brand new tour, Black Rainbows, is set to be released on September 15th, 2023. Fans are overjoyed to be getting new music from Rae and can’t wait to be one of the first people to hear this album live on tour!
