Band brings twisting music.
Danish extreme metal band The Arcane Order was formed in 2000 after Flemming C. Lund’s band Autumn Leaves permanently broke up. Now, The Arcane Order has released their latest album Distortions from Cosmogony.
Each track features mind bending instrumentation that fills the air with smacking sound while the powerful vocals shriek out the lyrics. Distortions from Cosmogony displays how authoritative The Arcane Order are with their music.
“Cry of Olympus” is a truly soul shaking track thanks to the righteous drum playing from Bastian Thusgaard. Right off the bat, fast paced drum beats welcome listeners to The Arcane Order’s dark world. The most enjoyable part of the song is hearing how fast Thusgaard can play; each rapid drum beat contributes to the overwhelming intensity.
“Starvations for Elysium” is a composition featuring hard hitting guitar and bass playing by Lund, Kasper Kirkegaard and Anders Frodo S. Mikkelsen. Extreme metal requires a lot of vein jolting guitar riffs and the band certainly delivers. While listening, each guitar note from Lund and Kirkegaard sizzles the atmosphere with face smacking noise while Mikkelsen’s bass guitar shakes the background with intense riffs. “Starvations for Elysium” screams talented guitar playing thanks to Lund, Mikkelsen and Kirkegaard’s expertise.
“The First Deceiver” is a well written song based on honest lyricism. The lines “Fever through the fields you’re fleeing / Sinking in a shallow grave / Hiding in the pits believing / Prolonging forsaken fate” discuss how karma has a way to catch up to those who are constantly causing negativity to other people. The band did a great job writing “The First Deceiver,” reflecting on how some people deserve consequences for their negative actions toward other people.
“Children of Erebos” features a jaw dropping vocal performance from Kim Song Sternkopf. Throughout the whole track, Sternkopf’s vocals are fantastic; the singer angrily screams out the lyrics with his deep voice. Sternkopf’s vocal tone and style contribute to the lingering madness on “Children of Erebos.”
Distortions from Cosmogony shows how passionate The Arcane Order are about the metal genre as a whole and fans will not be disappointed thanks to the wonderful instrumentation and vocal performance.
