If you’re looking for a night of classic indie rock and power pop, clear your schedules for October 24th, 2023. Jukebox the Ghost is coming to Mohawk Austin with a special guest, Wolves of Glendale! The three men will be taking the stage at 7 pm sharp and it’ll be a show you won’t want to miss!
Jukebox the Ghost is made of three members. Ben Thornewill is on vocals and keyboards, Tommy Siegel is on vocals, guitar and bass and Jesse Kristin is on drums and percussion. The band formed in 2006 in Washington D.C. The three met at George Washington University where they all attended. At first, the trio called themselves “The Sunday Mail,” but later changed their name to Jukebox the Ghost after 2 years. The trio released their first album, Let Live & Let Ghosts, in 2008 and recorded it while being seniors in college still pursuing their education. The multitalented men saw positive reviews after their first album and released their second album 2 years later. Jukebox the Ghost had a big year in 2010. They released their second album, Everything Under the Sun, on September 7th, 2010 and were also invited to appear on the Late Show with David Letterman!
Jukebox the Ghost went for a different style of lyricism when they released their third album, Safe Travels, on June 12th, 2012. Safe Travels was a lot more personal than their last two albums and they strayed away from their classic fictional narratives that the last two albums possessed. In 2014, the band released their 4th album, which was a self-titled album. It wasn’t until 4 years later would they released their 5th album, Off to the Races. Both albums were considered alternative and grew Jukebox the Ghost’s professional image even more.
Just this year, on April 7th, 2023, the trio released the deluxe version of their 6th album, Cheers. The album includes 19 songs, with 4 of them being a piano instrumental!
