Wilco at the Moody Amphitheater on September 29th

Six men who make incredible music will be taking over the Moody Amphitheater stage on September 29th here in Austin, Texas! Wilco is embarking on their “Tour to Infinity” with a special opening act, My Brightest Diamond. With a discography of 12 albums, it’s bound to be an exciting show.

The alternative rock band from Chicago formed in 1994 by the remaining members of Uncle Tupelo after the band ended.  Current members of the band include John Stirratt on the bass, guitar, keyboards and backup vocals, Jeff Tweedy on leading vocals, guitar and harmonica, Glenn Kotche on keyboards, synthesizers, piano, organ and sound manipulation and effects, Nels Cline on the guitar and lap steel and Pat Sansone on keyboards, guitar, backing vocals, synthesizers, tambourine and the maracas. Only Stirratt and Tweedy have been members of the band since 1994.

Their most popular album, Yankee Hotel Foxtrot, includes the hit songs “Heavy Metal Drummer” and “Jesus, Etc.” Although it is their most popular album, they actually released 3 albums before Yankee Hotel Foxtrot was ever a thought. Between 1995 and 2000, Wilco released 3 albums titled A.M., Being There and Summerteeth. Yankee Hotel Foxtrot came out in 2001. In 15 years, the band released 7 more successful albums throughout the years and toured the world. They released A Ghost Is Born in 2004, Sky Blue Sky in 2007, Wilco (The Album) in 2009, The Whole Love in 2011, Star Wars in 2015, Schmilco in 2016 and Ode to Joy in 2019.

After receiving a new album almost every 2 years for 15 straight years, fans started to wonder where Wilco went after Ode to Joy. They thought that the band may be done making new music, until it was announced that they would have a brand new album releasing in 2022. Cruel Country was released on May 27th, 2022 and is approximately one hour and seventeen minutes long. It is a rock album and fans are excited to hear it live! Don’t miss your chance to see this iconic rock band! Tickets are on sale at Ticketmaster.com.
