Two-time Grammy winning artist Thundercat is embarking on the In Yo Girl’s City Tour this fall. The North American leg of the tour includes a stop at Los Angeles’ Greek Theatre on Thursday, October 5.
Following the release of his latest single “No More Lies” in collaboration with Tame Impala, Thundercat announced the In Yo Girl’s City Tour set to travel across the Americas this fall. The North American leg of the tour kicks off on August 5 in Newport, RI and concludes on October 31 in Albuquerque, NM. The 22- date tour includes stops in Phoenix, Chicago, Detroit, Atlanta, and more. Following the North American leg, Thundercat is set to perform five shows in South America with most shows in Brazil before closing off the tour in Chile.
The LA-based bassist, singer, producer and songwriter, Thundercat first rose to fame during his time as part of trash metal band Suicidal Tendencies. In 2011 Thundercat released his first solo album The Golden Age of Apocalypse followed by 2013’s Apocalypse and 2017’s Drunk. At the same time, Thundercat was also producing and collaborating with artists such as Kendrick Lamar, Mac Miller and Gorillaz.
Thundercat released his latest album It Is What It Is in 2020 making it his fourth studio record. The album earned Thundercat his second Grammy Award this time for the Best Progressive R&B Album. The record was produced by Thundercat and his longtime partner Flying Lotus who was also nominated for a Grammy in Producer of the Year, Non-Classical for his work in the album. Thundercat made a special appearance at the 65th Annual Grammy Awards performing on stage with Steve Lacy for his hit single “Bad Habit.” The distinct bassist also performed with Gorillaz at Coachella and joined Red Hot Chili Peppers as support on their North American and European stadium tour.
