Hard rock band, The Struts, are hitting the road once more to embark on their Remember The Name Tour! They will be coming to Austin later this month, on June 28th, with a special opening act, Mac Saturn. Austin is the only Texas stop on this stellar tour, so locals better get their tickets before people start making plans to drive into town to see this incredible band!
Member, Luke Spiller, always had an interest in music and performing arts. He started singing for bands at the age of 16. It wasn’t until 2009 when Spiller met Adam Slack and they decided to record music together. The Struts came to be in 2010 in Derby, Derbyshire. Now The Struts is made up of 4 members, Spiller is the lead vocalist, Slack is on guitar, Jed Elliot is the bassist and Gethin Davies is the band’s drummer.
The Struts discography consists of 3 albums, 3 EPs and 2 live releases. Their first album, Everybody Wants, was released on March 4th of 2016. The album has parts of glam rock and includes the hit song, “Could Have Been Me.” It was inspired by Spiller’s favorite musical groups, such as Queen, Def Leppard and Spillers biggest inspiration, Michael Jackson. The band released their second album, YOUNG & DANGEROUS, on October 26th, 2018. The album includes the song, “Body Talks,” which features Kesha. Their latest album, Strange Days, was released on October 16th, 2020. The album was met with critical acclaim and featured many well known artists. The song “Wild Child” is a part of this album.
The band is known for their glamorous outfits and style. Freddy Mercury’s designer, Zandra Rhodes, even created the outfits they wore on their 2014 tour! Their looks match their sound and create a harmonious performance. Just recently, on February 24th of 2023, The Struts released a new EP with 4 acoustic songs. The EP is titled Unplugged at EastWest and the songs are performed live on the EP.
