The 2010’s music icon, Kesha, is coming to Austin, Texas on October 16th! In honor of her new album, Gag Order, Kesha will be embarking on her Gag Order Tour and the first stops are in Texas, starting in Dallas. The tour includes special opening act, Jake Wesley Rogers, who will be embarking on tour with the legend herself. The tour was just announced on May 30th and tickets are still available!
At 18, Kesha signed to her first record label in 2005. Little did she know she would become a staple in the decades history of music. Kesha is one of the big names people use when describing historical records and core memories people have of the 2010’s. In 2010, Kesha dropped her first album, Animals, on January 1st, 2010. It was a kick start to the new year and the album took off as the year’s anthem. The album hit number 1 on the US Billboard 200 chart. Hit songs off the album, “TiK ToK,” “Your Love Is My Drug” and “Blah Blah Blah” were heard all over the nation. “TiK ToK” became the best-selling digital single in history. Every millennial and Gen Z alike had the song downloaded on their ipod nano! Her second album, Cannibal, came out within the same year on November 19th, 2010. The world started their year with Kesha and ended it with her, too. “Cannibal” and “Blow” were played everywhere when ringing in the new year.
After releasing 2 remix albums in 2011 and the album Warrior in 2012, Kesha took a break from music to handle some personal matters. Fans were missing new music from Kesha and were anticipating the moment she would announce new music. It was 5 years later, but Kesha announced the coming of a new album, Rainbow. Rainbow was released on August 11th, 2017 and includes heartfelt content about the struggles she went through in the previous years. The content was different from her last few albums and hit songs like “Woman” and “Praying” caught the ears of the public. The album also reached #1 on the Billboard 200s chart. After touring for Rainbow, Kesha released a new album, High Road, on January 31st, 2020. The album made it into the top 10 records within the year.
In most recent news, Kesha released her brand new album, Gag Order on April 19th, 2023. The album is categorized as pop, but has elements of indie-folk and hallucinogenic melodies. Kesha has sold more than 55 million combined tracks and ringtones worldwide. She has won a magnitude of awards and was named the 26th top artist on Billboard’s 2010 decade-end charts. Although she is a staple of the early 21st century, she continues to pave the way for artists and the music industry to this day. Don’t miss your chance to hear her old hits and her new album live in concert!
The tour includes a meet & greet that is available for purchase. Presale was on May 31st for fans, but the general sale was just last week on June 2nd. You can find tickets on axs.com or any ticket resale site!
