Rock fans across the world know them and love them. They have shaped the rock genre and are the influence of many bands who followed in their footsteps. The iconic band, Aerosmith, is coming to Austin, Texas on their PEACE OUT Tour on October 23rd! The tour is their farewell after 53 astonishing years of creating music and touring the world. The tour includes special opening act, The Black Crowes.

Aerosmith was formed in 1970 in Boston, Massachusetts. The group has 5 official members and two live touring members. Steven Tyler is the lead vocalist and plays the harmonica and piano, Joe Perry plays guitar, Tom Hamilton plays the bass, Joey Kramer plays the drums and Brad Whitford also plays the guitar. The bands style is rooted in blues inspired hard rock. They have explored many genres throughout their career including pop rock, metal, rhythm and blues.

The start of the band came from members Hamilton and Perry when they were in a band together called the Jam Band. The band released their first self-titled album on January 5th, 1973 that includes their hit song “Dream On.” Their next album, Get Your Wings, was released a year later on March 15th, 1974. The band reached mainstream status due to the release of their next album, Toys In The Attic, on April 8th, 1975. Their next 3 albums, Rocks, Draw The Line and Night In The Ruts were met with the same success within the 1970s. Within this decade, they became one of the most popular rock bands in the world!

From 1982 to 1997, Aerosmith released 6 more albums that granted them numerous rewards. Albums Pump, Get a Grip and Nine Lives went multi platinum and received acclaimed success from the public. In 1998, the band saw their first ever number one hit with the song “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing.” In 2001, the band released their 13th studio album, Just Push Play. Their 14th studio album is titled Honkin’ on Bobo and was released on March 30th, 2004. Their most recent album of new works was released in 2012, titled Music From Another Dimension!
