On March 13th, Jimmy Eat World and Manchester Orchestra announced their brand-new upcoming tour, “The Amplified Echoes Tour.” The two groups will be starting their tour in Missoula, Montana on July 11th, and finishing their American leg of the tour in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on August 26th. The two will be headed to Austin to perform at the Moody Theater on August 8th! With Jimmy Eat World’s brand-new single, “Place Your Debts,” that was released on October 19th, 2022, and Manchester Orchestra’s new album, “The Valley of Vision,” released on March 10th of this year, it’s guaranteed to be a lively performance.
Jimmy Eat World was formed by two best friends, members Jim Adkins and Zach Lind, in 1993. Guitarist, Tom Linton, and bassist, Rick Burch, soon followed suit in joining the band. Through their 30 years of music, the band has curated 10 albums consisting of versatile genres, such as alternative rock, emo, and pop-punk. The 4 found their way to stardom when several singles from their album, “Bleed America”, skyrocketed in the charts in 2001. Since then, the band reached new heights when their 6th album, “Chase This Light,” became their highest charting album and increased their monthly listeners exponentially. This will be their first tour that includes a stop in Austin, Texas since 2017 during the “8 Tour.”
Manchester Orchestra is classified as an indie-rock band that consists of members Andy Hull, Robert McDowell, Andy Prince, and Tim Very. The band has released 6 studio albums in their 19 years together and have even performed at our very own Austin City Limits just last year. Their newest album consists of 6 songs and was released alongside a VR film for the album released on their YouTube channel. The VR Film is a 26-minute long, 180-degree immersive experience where viewers can move the screen with their fingers and take in a multitude of scenery. The scenes all have meaning associated with their album, “The Valley of Vision.”
The two groups have decided to hit the stage together for the first time with a special guest, Middle Kids Music. Don’t miss the opportunity to see this new music come to life at the Moody Amphitheater on August 8th. General sale was on March 16th, but tickets are still available on Ticketmaster.com, ranging in prices from lawn seating for $38 all the way to front row VIP seating for $400+.
