The cover’s production sticks to the original song’s pianocentric jazz composition accompanied by the soulful riffs and runs of Sumney’s entrancing voice. The cover record was composed by Ariel Marx along with the rest of the series’ soundtrack.
The song’s meaning being about the story of finding constant reminders of those loved everywhere and having to bear the recirculating memories of a particular person. The first verse opened with the lyrics, “I’ll be seeing you/ In all the old familiar places/That this heart of mine embraces/All day and through.”
Aside from music, Sumney has taken on other disciplines within the entertainment industry. Set to appear in upcoming A24 movie Maxxxine and HBO series The Idol, the singer is showing his diverse range with each new project.
