The Monkees Celebrated By Micky Dolenz In DTLA

Micky Dolenz has announced a new set of shows celebrating The Monkees this September. Dolenz is set to perform selections from Headquarters plus all the hits and classic tracks from the 60s band on Friday, September 22 at the Theatre at Ace Hotel in Los Angeles, California.

Following the end of the spring Headquarters Tour, Micky Dolenz is heading back on the road later this fall. The last surviving member of The Monkees, the 1960s made-for-TV band, is touring celebrating the classic pop rock band performing all of their greatest hits. Dolenz continues to add new shows, the latest being two SoCal shows this September at Solano Beach and Down Town LA. Dolenz is also set to honor his bandmates with performances of their songs as well.

The Monkees was a band originally formed for television consisting of Micky Dolenz, Davy Jones, Michael Nesmith, and Peter Tork. Their debut single “Last Train to Clarksville” hit the charts on September 10, 1966 rocketing to the No.1 slot. Two days later, The Monkees television series debuted on NBC achieving immediate success. The program lasted for two seasons captivating audience around the world and earning two Emmy awards for Outstanding Comedy Series and Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Comedy. Following the series, The Monkees went on as a real pop rock band performing world tours for decades. Their 1967 album Headquarters was the band’s first self-made album. The band went on to release 13 studio albums, the latest being 2018’s Christmas Party. The Monkees officially came to end following the death of Tork and the band’s Farewell Tour.
