One Republic at the Hard Rock on May 11th

Tedder and Zach Filkins started the band in Colorado in 2002, taking influence from the Beatles, Peter Gabriel, and U2. They then moved to Los Angeles.

OneRepublic have seen commercial success since breaking through with their late 2000s single “Apologize,” combining a deft mix of alternative rock, modern pop, and traditional singer/songwriter elements. Ryan Tedder, the band’s leader, writes catchy songs that have won Grammys for a long list of well-known artists, including Leona Lewis, Beyoncé, Maroon 5, Taylor Swift, and Adele. OneRepublic proceeded to amass radio successes with the success of the Timbaland remix of the song “Apologize” from their 2006 debut, Dreaming Out Loud. They peaked with Native (2013), the album that gave us the smash hits “Counting Stars” and “Love Runs Out.” OneRepublic has maintained its chart power, reaching number three on the Billboard 200 with 2016’s Oh My My and number eleven with 2021’s Human. Tedder has continued to push the band’s style while embracing electronic dance and pop embellishments.

Melanie Stewart: Hi! My name is Melanie and I am a music business/management student at Berklee College of Music. As a young child, I began vocal training and continued up until my second year of college. My experience in music has lead me to many opportunities including performing at local clubs/cafes, joining a band, and writing my own music amongst other things. Outside of music, I have a passion for business and design. I have been able to create my own business as well as co-design a website for a peer project to be used for their company. I hope to perfect my skill and further my education.
