Under the identity Seven Lions, California producer Jeff Montalvo swiftly developed a loyal following by fusing popular pop, trance, and dubstep. After shifting from drumming to music production in 2007, the former drummer quickly became the winner of an Above & Beyond competition by remixing their song “You Got to Go.” Success grew rapidly. Days to Come was released by Seven Lions in 2012. In 2014, he entered on the Billboard 200 with his third EP, Worlds Apart. He breached the dance/electronic Top Ten with 2019’s “Need Your Love,” a duet with Gryffin and singer/songwriter Noah Kahan, after subsequent EPs like 2015’s The Throes of Winter and 2017’s dance chart-topping Creation highlighted a greater emphasis on song form. 10 years into his music career, in October 2022, he released Beyond the Veil, his first full-length album in which he collaborated with So Below, Lights, and the Vancouver Sleep Clinic.
