Enslaved and Insomnium are headed to Austin on April 25th for their co-headlining North American tour! The two metal bands will be at Come and Take It Productions Live with special guest, Black Anvil. With a combined total of 25 studio albums from the 2 bands, it’s guaranteed to be a lively show.
Enslaved is a Norwegian extreme metal band created in 1991. Ivar Bjørnson and Grutle Kjellson formed the Norwegian Grammy award winning band and it now includes members Arve Isdal, Håkon Vinje and Iver Sandøy. Over their time together, the band has released 16 studio albums and 4 EPs. This upcoming tour is dedicated to their newest album, Heimdal, that was just released on March 3rd, 2023. Before the release of the album, the band released two singles from the album. “Kingdom” was released on August 25h, 2022 and created buzz surrounding the anticipated album. The single, “Congelia,” was then released on November 18th, 2022, just 3 months before the full album was released. Sadly, due to immediate family issues, drummer Sandøy will be unable to attend the first part of the North American tour. Enslaved has stated that they want to invite their fans to participate as a stand in 5th member of the band, according to their Twitter.
Insomnium is a melodic death metal band that originated in Finland in 1997. Current members include Niilo Sevänen on bass and hard vocals, Ville Friman on guitar and clean vocals, Markus Hirvonen on drums, Markus Vanhala on guitar and Jani Liimatainen who also plays guitar and adds clean vocals. Their music has been described to have themes of darkness, sorrow and the loss that comes with life and nature. According to their Twitter, they like to describe themselves as “Finnish Melodic Deathsters.” They are also touring a brand new album that came out on February 24th, 2023. Anno 1696 is their ninth studio album and is based on short stories written by the bands very own, Niilo Sevänen. The album reached #1 in Finland and #6 in the United States in the category of “current hard music albums.” It includes previously released singles such as “Lilian,” “White Christ” and “The Witch Hunter.” The new album is added to their already successful discography of 9 albums and 2 EPs.
