Saint Motel at Theatre of Living Arts on April 30th

Saint Motel

Saint Motel is bringing “The Awards Show” tour to The Theatre of Living Arts on Sunday, April 30th with special guest Homes at Night.

The indie rock-pop formed in 2007 and consists of AJ Jackson (lead vocals, guitar, piano), Aaron Sharp (lead guitar), Dak Lerdamornpong (bass), and Greg Erwin (drums). AJ met Sharpe when both studied film at Chapman University. They later met Lerdamornpong who worked at a sushi restaurant and Greg who attended a nearby college.

In 2009, the band released their 2009 debut EP ForPlay and accompanied each track with a video that captured their energetic sound and strong visual themes. Their full-length debut album Voyeur was released in 2012. They gained a larger fanbase when their song “My Type” started being used in UK commercials and EA Sport’s FIFA 15. The song went certified platinum in Italy and led to multiple tours in support of the EP and a debut live TV performance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!. Their second album saintmotelevision was released in 2016. The album’s song “Move” was also featured in another EA Sports game FIFA 17. Saintmotelevision is the first entire album released with a VR experience to accompany each track. Saint Motel’s latest album The Original Motion Picture Soundtrack was released June 2021. The album’s single “A Good Song Never Dies” was featured on the soundtrack of the video game MLB The Show 20.

The group has toured with the likes of Imagine Dragons, Weezer, Panic! at the Disco and Arctic Monkeys along with festivals like Coachella, Sanremo Music Festival and the KROQ Weenie Roast.
