Half Alive at Theatre of Living Arts on April 29th

Half Alive is playing on their Conditions of a Punk Tour at the Theatre of Living Arts on Saturday, April 29th with special guests Tessa Violet and Dev Lemons.

The indie pop band cites influences from Sufjan Stevens, Kimbra, Chance the Rapper, Tyler, the Creator and Twenty One Pilots. Half Alive’s music explores themes of anxiety and religion, experimenting with sounds from the ’60s and ’70s.

The Long Beach trio formed in 2016 and consists of Josh Taylor (vocals), Brett Kramer (drums), and J. Tyler Johnson (bass). They’re best known for their single “Still Feel” which also gained attention for their music video’s choreography and cinematography. The band signed to RCA Records after receiving praise from NPR, Alternative Press, Rock Sound and Triple J. They went on their first tour in 2019 and made their late-night television debut on Jimmy Kimmel Live!. Their latest album Conditions of a Punk was released on December 2nd, 2022.
