Electronic group M83 at Franklin Music Hall on Friday, April 21st. The Fantasy 2023 Tour features special guest Jeremiah Chiu.
M83 formed in Antibes in 1999 with Anthony Gonzalez remaining the sole constant member of the group. The band was named after the M83 galaxy. Their musical influences include My Bloody Valentine, Pink Floyd and Tangerine Dream. Earlier in their music career, the band supported performances of Kings of Leon, The Killers, and Depeche Mode. M83 gained commercial success with the album Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming and their single “Midnight City”. Their music has ended up on soundtracks for TV shows and movies like Warm Bodies, Divergent, The Fault in our Stars, Gossip Girl, and Mr. Robot.
M83 released their ninth studio album Fantasy on March 17th, 2023. The album is full of guitars and synths that explores an alternate world to escape from the disconnected world.
