Irish indie rock band The Academic will be playing at The Foundry at The Fillmore on Sunday, May 7th for their Sitting Pretty North America Tour. Originally scheduled for April 14th, the band will now be playing on May 7th.

The Academic consists of Craig Fitzgerald (lead vocals, guitar), Matt Murtagh (guitar), Stephen Murtagh (bass), Dean Gavin (drums). The group started in Rochfortbridge, County Westmeath in 2013. The band gained more popularity when they were selected to represent Ireland at Eurosonic Noorderslag in Groningen. They released their debut LP Tales from the Backseat in 2018 which reached number one on the Irish Albums Chart and was nominated Album of the Year at Choice Music Prize. After signing to Capitol Records, the group released their second album Sitting Pretty on February 10, 2023.
