Madonna has announced a brand new tour and she will be hitting the stage in Austin for 2 days back to back! She will be at the Moody Center on September 21st and September 22nd. The last time Madonna performed in Austin, Texas was in May of 1985!
Madonna, also known as the “Queen of Pop,” announced that she was coming to Austin for The Celebration Tour. The feedback and demand was so high for the Austin show that she added a second stop in Austin for the very next day! This was just announced on March 27th and general sale is going on now.
Music has been a part of Madonna’s life since her father put her in classical piano lessons. She has so much faith in her love and passion for music that she dropped out of college and moved to New York City with $35 in her pocket. After starting her career as a dancer in NYC, her music career took off. In 1981, Gotham Records signed Madonna and kick started her solo career. Her first single, “Everybody,” hit #3 on the Billboard chart for hot dance club songs. Since then, Madonna has released 14 studio albums and has become a legendary household name. She is a multi talented woman with successful careers in singing, songwriting, acting, dancing, writing, and producing. Her fans range in all ages and it’s a safe bet that people who don’t know her know a song or two!
